✓Successful completion of the Community College of Rhode Island's certificate surgical technologist program
✓Current BLS Certification is required upon hire
Education
✓High School Diploma or GED is requiredCompletion of at least one of the following options is required:
✓Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program, orGraduate of a surgical technologist associate degree program, or
✓Successful completion of a Brown University Health on-the-job surgical technologist training program
Qualifications
✓Knowledge of various surgical procedures in order to assist and anticipate physician needs.
✓Knowledge of various surgical equipment and aseptic techniques; ability to operate sterilization equipment.
✓Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
