You’ll need
Certifications
✓Nationally Recognized CPR /AED- American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED for Infants, Youth and Adults certification
Certification to instruct in the applicable fitness & recreation program or equivalent experience preferred
Education
✓or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Qualifications
✓Possession of the professional level of expertise in the activity to be conducted and demonstrated teaching ability and skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
✓Working knowledge of program activity practices and procedures.
✓Verbal and written communication skills in the English language, active listening, dynamic flexibility, critical thinking, multi-task and time management skills.
✓Ability to exercise independent sound judgment and employ reasoning skills.
✓Client service minded, entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking skills.
✓Basic skills in computer programs relevant to job duties.
American Red Cross Lifeguard Training/First Aid preferred
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor preferred
Two years of more of experience as instructor preferred

The Aquatics unit is an integral part of Fitness & Recreation and provides customer service while ensuring participants learn to swim in a safe environment.
