$32.00 - $46.44 per hour Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The Technology Transfer Manager will be responsible for managing the entire life cycle of inventions and technologies arising from Rush University research. You will lead and manage the identification, protection, marketing, licensing, and management of intellectual property (e.g., patents, copyrights). • Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field.
• Two years' experience in technology transfer at an institution of higher education/non-profit organization. Advanced degree and research experience may be considered in lieu of technology transfer experience
• Understanding of early stage technology evaluation, intellectual property management, licensing process and corresponding types of legal agreements.
• Experience of building and managing faculty as well as industry relationships.
• Knowledge of life sciences, laws and regulations related to intellectual property licensing and fundamental business principles. Preferred Job

• Advanced degree in life sciences or an MBA. • Licensing experience.

1. Develops and maintains effective relationships with constituents inside and outside of Rush University Medical Center. 2. Evaluates patentability and potential markets for technologies, inventions, processes and therapies. 3.

Assists in the management of patent prosecution. 4. Markets discoveries to potential licensee companies, entrepreneurs and investors. 5. Develops licensing strategies, drafts, reviews and negotiates Inter-Institutional Agreements, Options and Licenses. 6.

Trains and mentors licensing and support staff as needed. 7. Reviews and interprets policy, state law, and federal regulations. 8. Provides timely, accurate, and relevant reporting to the Innovation and Research Counsel 9.

Collaborates with Office of Research Affairs (ORA) for various aspects of intellectual property management. 10. Manages creation to fulfillment patent process of Rush University Medical Center (RUMC) technologies. 10. Other relevant duties as assigned.
