Together with our community, Legacy of Hope saves lives through organ and tissue donation, honors the legacy and generosity of donors, and supports donor families in their time of need. Legacy of Hope serves two transplant centers in Alabama: UAB Hospital and Children's of Alabama. The primary work location for this Legacy of Hope role is in the Mobile, AL area.
The Per Diem Tissue Procurement Technician will report directly to the LOH Tissue Manager for all administrative support. Under direct supervision of the Procurement Team Leader, the Per Diem Tissue Procurement Technician is responsible for assistance in the procurement, packaging, and transportation of bone, soft tissue, and heart for valve for distribution to the designated tissue processor. Responsibilities include on-call status.
Qualifications High school diploma; One (1) year medical, surgical, EMT or nursing experience required. Educational experience in nursing and/or medical school program may be considered. Familiarity with anatomy, aseptic technique, principles of sterile fields, and surgical instruments is preferred.
Experience in the field of orthopaedics is preferred. Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured for company vehicles. May be required to drive personal vehicle.
Liability coverage of $100,000.00 per person and $300,000.00 per accident for personal vehicle is required.
