Licensure
✓Requires clinical license and/or certification typically obtained through advanced education and advanced practical knowledge of job area obtained through extensive clinical experience.
✓Must have current RN license or valid temporary license with the Texas Board of Nursing
✓or valid Compact RN license.
✓Requires specialized knowledge gained through a combination of experience and/or advanced clinical education, including licensure and certification
Certifications
✓Must have certification in Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN).
✓Must have Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
✓Must have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
✓Must maintain an instructor status in TNCC, ATCN, or ENPC
✓Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure.

✓Bachelor's Degree
✓Must have a bachelor’s degree in nursing
✓Equivalent Education and/or Experience
✓May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.

✓Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and may require a master’s degree in a related clinical field.
Qualifications
✓Must have four years of progressive nursing experience.
✓Must be able to communicate effectively with professional nursing staff, medical staff and allied health professionals attending classes.
✓Must have superior writing skills to compose course outlines, objectives and manuals. Must demonstrate competence in technical skills and knowledge related to Emergency Services.
✓Must be organized and creative in the educational process for both individual and large group classes.
✓Must have exemplary clinical skills in Emergency and Trauma Nursing.
✓Must be able to develop a positive, cooperative working relationship with community providers. Must demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.
