Trauma Registrar

and Responsibilities As our Trauma Registrar, you will provide direct support to Trauma Services and indirect support to patients across the age continuum. Every day you will collaborate with prehospital EMS providers, referring facilities, the Emergency Department, and inpatient units to collect and abstract data for patients meeting trauma criteria, support planning and implementation of program goals, and work with registrar colleagues on accurate, complete data entry.

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong experience in medical data/trauma registry abstraction, deep attention to detail, and ability to manage large health datasets. Contributes to the efficiency of operations in trauma registry through collection of required elements, coding of clinical conditions, and external causes of injury. Reviews necessary data, provides special or ad hoc reporting to ensure capture of all injured patients meeting trauma registry criteria and those meeting criteria for specialty codes.

Abstracts, assembles, enters, and codes clinical data into databases by using Association for the Advancement of Automotive Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) and the standardized registry criteria as defined by the National Trauma Data Bank and State regulatory agencies. Retrieves missing data elements from necessary sources and ensures information entered into the trauma registry database is complete and accurate. Responsible for the timely preparation/submission of data to State and NTBD regulatory agencies.

Resolves routine entry issues/problems and appropriately seeks assistance from Supervisor, Managers, Coordinators and/or other identified specialists.
