Trauma Registrar

✓Requirements
Certifications
✓Retains authority, responsibility and accountability for direction and maintenance of the trauma registry and ensuring that it maintains at a minimum, a target of 85% of the cases abstracted within 42 days of discharge.
✓The Registrar will complete the Basic Trauma Registry Course and the ATS Trauma Registrar Course within 1 year Required and
✓The Trauma Registrar must have evidence of continuing education related to the trauma registry which includes eight hours of continuing education per year and can be fulfilled by attendance at PTSF Registry Conferences, internal, external and/or online opportunities.
Education
✓High School Diploma or GED Required
Certificate Program Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training (Medical secretarial or medical record technician program) Preferred
Qualifications
✓1 year Health-related field/allied health Required
✓Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
✓Medical terminology
✓ICD-9/ICD-10 CM coding
✓Computer competency
✓Database management
