Responsibilities Part-Time Treatment Team Assistant, Monday - Friday, 8:30a - 11:00a, and every other weekend (no benefits) Poplar Springs Hospital is a 183 bed acute care and residential facility. This position will assist in providing safe, effective patient care under the direction of the Program Director/Manager and Unit Charge Nurse. Will have a significant role in direct patient care and is a critical participant in providing a safe and therapeutic environment for patients/residents through the use of effective HWC, CPR and S/R techniques.
Mentors new hires and students in unit routines. Performs administrative duties as assigned. Acts as a role model to patients/residents.
Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills. Performs other duties as assigned. Hours will vary and applicants need to have flexibility with his/her availability.

Must be at least 21 years of age per Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services. Must have patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm. Good communication skills; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Basic clerical skills, basic experience with office equipment (telephone, copy machine, fax, etc.) Computer skills helpful. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to problem solve and accept feedback when circumstances warrant such actions.
Willingness to interact with patients with varying levels of cognitive functioning
