You’ll need
Certifications
✓Minimum two years of experience in a hospital or central tumor registry required.
✓Eligibility to obtain Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification required, with certification obtained within two years of hire date.
Education
Associate's Degree preferred.
Qualifications
✓Minimum five years of experience in a medical office or facility preferred.
✓Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and pathology.
✓Able to read
✓write legibly
✓speak in English with professional quality
✓use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
✓Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
✓work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure

✓Maintains a courteous and cooperative attitude toward staff, interdepartmental staff, external agencies, physician offices, reporting facilities, convalescent homes and public.

Responsible for developing and maintaining a quality improvement program for the Loma Linda University Cancer Center Cancer Registry. Performs abstracting and case finding for required data elements following a combination of federal, professional and state mandates.
