Certifications
✓Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) OR Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) through Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
✓Satisfactory completion of a medical terminology course.
Education
✓High school graduate or equivalent.
Qualifications
✓One (1) experience as a Central Service or Sterile Processing Technician
✓Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards. Training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, In-services, and competency validation.
✓Good communication and interpersonal skills.
✓Ability to perform in emergency or stressful situations.
✓Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the hospital.
✓Possess the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guest.
✓Able to function as a part of a team as well as independently.
✓Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize time and tasks to achieve a well-coordinated work effort.
