✓Sonographer certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required.
✓Current BLS required.
Education
Associates Degree in related health science or graduate of an accredited program preferred in related field.
Qualifications
✓Staff Safety (a wearable badge that allows nurses to quickly and discreetly call for help when safety is a concern)
✓Competence in the specialty area(s) to be performed.
✓Must have one (1) of the following qualified modalities as an initial licensure:

What you’ll do
Prepare exam room andPrepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infections disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures
Responsible for the safetyResponsible for the safety of the patient during sonographic examination
Review patient medical historyReview patient medical history and supporting clinical information
Ensure that the sonographyEnsure that the sonography examination order is complete, contains relevant information, and meets the standard of medical necessity
Evaluate any contraindications, insufficientEvaluate any contraindications, insufficient patient preparation, and the patients inability or unwillingness to tolerate the examination and associated procedures
