The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound studies, demonstrating good judgment in the use and application of ultrasound equipment. The incumbent assesses the findings in the ultrasound examinations and assists the radiologist and staff physicians in interpreting the ultrasound studies. Duties & Responsibilities Demonstrates competency, individually and as part of the multidisciplinary team, in performing clinical care and assessment of all patient populations Maintains workstations and equipment.
Greets patients and confirms patient identification. Assists in the ordering of supplies. Enhances professional growth.
Preserves and protects patient rights to confidentiality. Performs other job-related duties as assigned or requested. Requirements Completion of a one- or two-year program or certified training course, followed by certification examination.
Ultrasound training, involving new diagnostic equipment and techniques is received on the job. Registry with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is required. Must be proficient in the English language.
