Certifications
✓Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) (required).
✓ARDMS certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) (required).
✓Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
Fetal Echocardiography (FE) certification or eligibility (preferred).
Education
✓Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program (required).
Associate degree from an accredited Allied Health Ultrasound Program (preferred).
Qualifications
✓Advanced knowledge of fetal, maternal, and pelvic anatomy and physiology.
✓Proficient in performing detailed fetal anatomical surveys and advanced obstetric imaging.
✓Knowledge of AIUM, ACOG, ISUOG, and SMFM imaging guidelines and standards.
✓Ability to recognize fetal anomalies and maternal pathology requiring immediate physician notification.
✓Excellent critical thinking, clinical judgment, and problem-solving skills.
✓Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple high-risk patients efficiently.
✓Strong verbal and written communication skills with physicians, patients, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
✓Demonstrates compassion, professionalism, and emotional intelligence when caring for patients experiencing high-risk pregnancies or adverse fetal diagnoses.
✓Builds collaborative relationships with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
✓Accepts constructive feedback and participates in ongoing professional development.
✓Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced Maternal-Fetal Medicine environment.
✓Excellent customer service and patient-centered care skills.
Minimum one (1) year of experience performing obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations (preferred).
Previous experience in Maternal-Fetal Medicine or high-risk obstetric ultrasound strongly preferred.
EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred).
Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) (preferred).
Experience with advanced ultrasound platforms (GE Voluson, Philips, Siemens, or equivalent) preferred.
Knowledge of 3D/4D obstetric imaging and advanced Doppler applications preferred.
