Ultrasound Technologist – RWJBarnabas Health Ultrasound Technologists play a vital role in patient care by performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions.
This position utilizes advanced ultrasound technology to conduct general, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts imaging while ensuring exceptional patient care, accuracy, and efficiency. The Ultrasound Technologist collaborates closely with radiologists, providers, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to deliver outstanding clinical outcomes. A Typical Day for an Ultrasound Technologist May Include: Performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations for inpatient, outpatient, STAT, and routine cases.
Conducting general, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts imaging studies. Reviewing and analyzing ultrasound images to ensure diagnostic quality and accuracy. Providing compassionate patient care while utilizing independent judgment and critical thinking skills.
Communicating effectively with physicians, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare team members. Utilizing electronic clinical ordering systems and PACS for image documentation and workflow management. Rotating to imaging off-site locations and the operating room as needed.
Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring compliance with departmental protocols and regulatory standards. You thrive in a role that combines advanced technology with direct patient interaction. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Registered through ARDMS or ARRT and licensed in accordance with State requirements.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) approved course. Successful completion of all required orientation and onboarding programs. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain professional licensure and comply with all applicable regulatory requirements.
