UM COORDINATOR

This dynamic position entails assisting the Utilization Management Department staff in various ways throughout the day. Responsible for answering the department phone, managing faxes, emails and other communications received. Work with insurance companies for discharge notifications, authorization determinations as well as appeal determinations.

Majority of day will be spent on the phone and computer, but you will also interact with patients/families in observation status to give required notices. Use different office tools such as Word and Excel to assist the department in running smoothly. Requires flexibility to shift to different assignments throughout the day to keep the office flow running smoothly.
