You’ll need
Licensure
✓Current MS RN license, temporary permit (valid for 90 days) or compact state license.
Education
✓Graduate of an accredited program with a minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing.
✓Bachelor of Science in Nursing. College courses in management and organizational behavior.
Qualifications
✓Three (3) years in the specified clinical area or specified operational experience.
✓Competency in team building skills with accountability to the teams.
✓Must be able to prompt change by assuming leadership roles in interdisciplinary teams and supporting the growth and development of team members.
✓Must be able to communicate and collaborate with physicians, staff, and community to meet the patient needs for the area of management.
✓Must have good written communication skills
✓be fair and rational and able to function in a clinical capacity.
✓Must be able to make decisions when needed, have integrity, be responsible and dependable.
✓In addition to the required experience a minimum of one-year supervisory nursing experience is preferred.
About the role
The Unit Coordinator/Educator is accountable and responsible for assisting the Manager with day-to-day operations of the medical surgical unit and assisting the Education/Skills Coordinator with staff education. This includes demonstrating leadership skills, managing nursing practice, and/or operational issues.
