The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: A Vascular Technician is responsible for performing non-invasive vascular ultrasound examinations and physiological testing to evaluate patient circulatory systems, including operating diagnostic equipment and analyzing blood flow patterns.
Required: Completion of formal Ultrasound Training Program with previous experience in a Vascular Laboratory Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) status required A technologist may be hired as registry eligible; in such cases the candidate must sit for the registry exam within 6 months of hire and pass the exam within the first year of hire or be terminated Successful completion of all Orientation Programs Completion of all mandatory compliance training Scheduling Requirements Per Diem Day Shift
Perform all necessary test protocols on patients in the lab, at bedside, in the Emergency Room, Recovery Room or in the Operating Room as deemed necessary by physician Provide a preliminary report for all patients Contact attending/referring physician if a critical finding is obtained Performs ultrasound guided pseudo-aneurysm compression under the direct supervision of vascular surgeon Assists vascular surgeon in ultrasound guided pseudo-aneurysm injections Maintains Vascular Laboratory standards as set by Inter-societal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) Other required responsibilities in order to maintain the standard of excellence of the Vascular Lab Is knowledgeable of, adheres to and promotes safe practices (such as LeapFrog, Never Events, National Patient Safety Goals) Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
