Day Hours: 12 hours/day Recruiter Contact: Kathryn Rush at krush2@pennstatehealth.psu.edu Our Penn State Health Winter Nurse Externship program is an immersive 4 – week program (December 45, 2026 – January 19, 2027) designed to give participants hands-on experience, expert mentorship, and a real-world look at nursing before graduation. Due to the intensive nature of this opportunity, spots are limited, ensuring each participant is prepared to take the next steps in their nursing journey.

The first three days are mandatory for orientation. 2026 KEY DATES: Externship Dates: Monday, December 14, 2026 – Saturday, January 9, 2027 Mandatory Orientation Days: December 14 – December 16, 2026 MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S): Nursing student of an accredited Nursing Program and one clinical rotation, or a Graduate Nurse without Boards required.
