General
The Work Study Student (Archives Clerk) assists the Archivist of the Rush University Medical Center Archives with archival processing, administrative tasks, digitization, and/or reference requests and will be trained as necessary. Other information: Minimum Required Job
- Must be currently enrolled student at Rush University
- Ability to work effectively independently and with a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications.
- Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Strong writing, verbal, and active listening skills. Preferred Job
- Proficiency in graphics editing software; database software; scanning technology; content management systems. Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to routinely bend, reach the shelves above the head and at ground level.
- Normal archival environment. Dust and mold may be present and could cause difficulty for those with allergies.
- Performs sorting, arrangement, and preservation work of archival collections.
- Updates and improves existing database inventories.
- Digitizes photographs and documents according to Archivist’s standards.
- Assists Archivist with research requests by investigating queries.
