Wound Care Technician - PRN

**DAY SHIFT**PRN PositionPrimary PurposeProvides debridement and wound care to patients to decrease complications, speed healing time, and assist in maximum recovery for patients. MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONSEducation:Must have completed or hold one of the following:Two (2) years of experience in a Med/Surg environmentA formal nurse aide courseA current certified nurse aide registryA medical assistant courseA current medical assistant certificateA patient care technician courseA current patient care technician certificateMust be a currently enrolled in an accredited school of professional nursing and must have documentation of basic fundamentals of nursing from the schoolMust be a graduate from an accredited school of nursingParkland's job specific training programExperience:Previous experience as a wound care technician preferred.

Equivalent Education and/or ExperienceCertification/Registration/Licensure:Must have current heartsaver provider CPR course completion card within 30American Heart AssociationAmerican Red CrossMilitary Training NetworkSkills or Special Abilities:Must be able to successfully complete all department assigned competencies. Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff and hospital personnel.

Must be able to document care given in the medical record. Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors. Must have good fine motor and manual dexterity skills.
