Practice location: 130 Kinderkamack Rd, Suite 300, River Edge, NJ A typical day for an X-Ray Technician may include: 40 x-rays per day Multiple views for Sports Medicine, Trauma and Joint Replacement, Upper Ext, Lower Ext, and Spine Assists physician with evaluation and treatment of patient Assists physician with special procedures Coordinates the reading of all x-ray films with physician Initiating and maintaining correspondence with patients and insurance companies Maintains accurate record of all x-ray films to include appropriate log entries, x-ray documentation for jackets and accurate filing of films Performs basic functions such as photocopying, scanning and faxing Performs basic radiologist tests and oversees the production of x-rays Prepares patients for physician evaluation Relays information to patients regarding preparation of laboratory tests and examinations Arranges examining room instruments and equipment and keeps the examining rooms neat and clean Represents the clinic in a professional manner in person, in telephone conversations, and in written correspondence Respects and maintains privacy and dignity of patients and assures patient confidentiality at all times Takes patients’ medical history, information pertaining to the patients’ visit to the doctor and record vital signs of patients to help the doctor with diagnosis This role might be for you if: Clear, compassionate communication defines how you interact with patients, families, and colleagues Attention to detail and technical precision guide your work every day You remain calm and adaptable while managing a fast-paced clinical environment Patient safety and delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging are your top priorities You enjoy working collaboratively with providers and interdisciplinary care teams Continuous learning and professional growth motivate you Creating a positive, reassuring patient experience is central to your approach To be considered for this X-Ray Technician opportunity, you must: High School Diploma or GED required Minimum one year experience in an x-ray department in a hospital or physician’s office 1-3 experience as an x-ray technician performing diagnostic radiography Certification by American Registry of Radiographic Technologist license and New Jersey state license Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook is required CPR Certification approved by AHA Preferred: EPIC knowledge is a plus Working with Carestream XR machine and Horizon Health Care PACS is a plus Experience with non-weightbearing patients/stretcher patients is a plus Knowledge of leg length series is a plus
