$2,220–$2,340 Contract Length: 9 weeks Start Date: November 23, 2026 Nursing
12-hour shifts; primarily nights with variable day/night scheduling as assigned Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week, excluding applicable orientation and low-census provisions Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend Holiday Rotation: Every other holiday Patient Ratio: Approximately 4:1 Electronic Medical Record: EPIC experience strongly preferred Unit Environment: Progressive-care and medical-surgical intermediate care with telemetry monitoring Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements Current Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin or a valid compact-state RN license Minimum of 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown, Intermediate Care, Progressive Care, PCU, telemetry, or medical-surgical nursing experience At least one successfully completed travel nursing contract Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Associate degree or nursing certificate Ability to adapt to changing assignments, manage a fast-paced workload, and complete nursing tasks independently Willingness to float to inpatient units and nearby affiliated clinical locations as needed Progressive Care Nurse Responsibilities Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to cardiac stepdown, intermediate-care, progressive-care, and medical-surgical patients.
Monitor patients with telemetry needs and promptly recognize changes in clinical condition. Care for patients with sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox needs, gastrointestinal bleeding, ostomies, chest tubes, traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injuries, and stroke. Manage patients receiving insulin infusions and other complex therapies according to clinical protocols.
Perform nursing assessments, administer medications, provide treatments, and document patient care accurately in EPIC. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment, discharge planning, and patient education. Float to other inpatient units or assigned affiliated locations based on patient volume and operational needs.
Participate in rotating weekend and holiday coverage while maintaining a professional, team-oriented approach.
