Nights, 4x12hrs Hours: 48 hrs/wk Start Date: Nov 9, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit role requiring progressive or critical care experience and ACLS certification. Details Work in a newly established 16-bed Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) within the Heart and Vascular Center Care for complex cardiovascular medicine and cardiothoracic surgery patients transitioning from critical care or recovering from procedures 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio Utilizes continuous invasive pressure monitoring, transvenous and epicardial temporary pacing, and vasopressor/inotrope infusion management 12-hour PM-AM shifts (19:00-07:00), rotating and day shift only 36 or 48 weekly hours Requirements Active RN license (NH or Compact) required ACLS certification required Minimum 2 years of progressive care or critical care nursing experience Cardiology and cardiac surgery specialty experience required Experience with continuous bedside monitoring (ECG, SpO2, BP, RR) Experience with continuous invasive pressure monitoring (arterial line, CVP monitoring) Experience with temporary pacing (transvenous and epicardial wire pacing) Experience managing vasopressor infusions (phenylephrine, norepinephrine) Experience managing inotrope infusions (milrinone, dobutamine) Experience with chest tube management, phlebotomy, and peripheral IV insertion Critical care experience highly preferred (cardiac ICU specific not required) Charge RN and precepting experience preferred Additional Information Provide high-acuity nursing care bridging the gap between acute care and intensive care for cardiovascular patients Strengthen cardiovascular assessment, telemetry, and clinical judgment skills in early recognition of patient deterioration Collaborative progressive care setting supporting ongoing clinical development Dress code allows any color scrubs per facility policy Must reside outside a 75-mile radius to be eligible for this position
