Holiday Rotation:
Department: Labor & Delivery Reporting to the Charge Nurse/Shift Manager of the assigned area, the Operating Room Technician performs duties under the direction of the WCC OR Supervisor/Registered Nurse (RN). Responsible for providing high quality individualized basic care activities within the scope of practice. The WCC OR Technician is an individual who has received basic education and training to qualify him/her to function in delineated areas of patient care in the Operating Room as an assistant to the RN/MD (surgeon).
Consults with Clinical Manager and Department Director as necessary. Minimum
High School diploma preferred. Minimum Experience/Skills: Completion of formal OR Technician training program, or participation in; Hospital-based OR Technician training program or military OR tech training, minimum one-year experience in an acute care setting, one-year experience in OR/OB, ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing). License/Certificates/Credentials: Current BLS certificationRequired for Certified Operating Technician only: Certification from an approved Operating RoomTechnician certifying body.
(Certified Operating Room Technician) Physical Demands:Frequent standing/walking. Lift/position up to 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 50 lbs of force.
