Medication Management: Administering daily medication, including controlled substances, and managing inmate compliance. Clinical Care: Taking vital signs, performing physical assessments, dressing wounds, and conducting health screenings. Emergency Response: Responding to medical emergencies within the facility.
Documentation: Recording inmate health data, updates, and treatments accurately. Safety & Compliance: Following strict security protocols while providing care in a clinical setting. Requirements and Qualifications
A current, valid license to practice as a CNA in New York State (or a limited permit).
Experience in medical-surgical, ambulatory care, or mental health is often preferred.
Strong communication, composure in emergency situations, and the ability to work with a diverse offender population. Work Environment Setting: In-prison medical clinics.
