Days, 4x12hrs Hours: 48 hrs/wk Start Date: Nov 23, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position requiring prior travel experience and Epic proficiency at a Level I trauma center. Details Critical Care Float Pool role within a Level I trauma center Covers neuro/trauma SICU, MICU, CPS/VICU, CCU, progressive critical care unit (PCCU), and ICU/PCC patients in the ED and PACU awaiting bed placement Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM Every other weekend required Rotating holiday coverage required Floating to a variety of ICUs is expected Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active NY RN license required at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or RQI required Previous travel nursing experience required Epic EMR experience required Level I trauma center ICU experience strongly preferred Experience floating across multiple ICU settings highly desired One supervisor or manager reference within the past year required (charge nurse references not accepted) No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months Must complete a competency test within 24 hours of consideration, with up to 2 attempts to pass Medical exemption only accepted for flu vaccine; personal or religious declinations not accepted Additional Information Provide critical care nursing support across multiple ICU units as part of a float pool team Navy blue scrubs required Local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties are not eligible No blocked scheduling allowed More than 3 call-outs in a 13-week period may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks RTO must be requested at time of consideration First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
