Work Settings: CVOR, General OR, Trauma. Cardiovascular: Aortic Aneurysm repair, Atrial Septal defect repair, Cardiomyoplasty, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), Endovascular Aortic Repair (EVAR), Mitral valve replacement, Pericardial window, Ventricular Assist Device (VAD). Robotics: Cardiothoracic robotic surgery, Da Vinci Xi Surgical System.
Thoracic: Laparoscopic assisted cases, Lung resection-Thoracotomy, Mediastinoscopy, VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery). Emergency Management: Fire Safety. Equipment/Instrumentation/Supplies: Care of scopes & fiber optic equipment, Case Cart, Cell saver, Crash Cart, Drills (multiple types), Electrosurgical units, Fiber optic light sources/cords, High level disinfectant (HLD).
Professional Knowledge and
Aseptic Technique, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Pressure Ulcer Prevention, Radiation Safety, Sharps Safety, Specimen Handling/labeling, Sterilization/Disinfection, Suture Removal, Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure, Wound Care/Dressing changes. PREFERRED SKILLS Cardiovascular: Angioplasty/stenting, Atherectomy, Laparoscopic Cardiac Surgery, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR). Bariatrics: Gastric bypass, Gastric Sleeve, Lap band, Laparoscopic assisted cases.
