Dental Hygienist Under supervision of the Dentist, the hygienist administers oral prophylaxes of all new patients and service semi-annually on continuing patients. Documents and signs visits in Epic electronic medical record. Evaluates prophylaxes needs of patients.
Provides education on basis of Dental / brushing needs. Consults with dentist on the hygienist's findings and prescribed dental care and treatment. Analyzes the findings of oral examination and completed prophylaxes.
Determines follow-up need of patients after initial review of the digital x-rays. Consults with the dentist about findings. Maintains inventory of needed equipment and supplies in the hygiene operatory.
Cleans up operatory after seeing patients. Related duties, as required. Coverage of two Dental clinics withing Department of Dentistry.
