Contract details

The Associate Director of Nursing provides leadership, direction, program planning and clinical expertise to the United Health Services Nursing Departments. Facilitates the effective and efficient delivery of Nursing Services through the management of resource allocation and planning mechanisms in line management and staff capacities. In collaboration with Nursing Leadership and the Medical Directors from said units and other departments as required, directs quality improvement projects, patient care referral activity, budgeting, education, program development, strategic planning activities and marketing/networking.

Develops and implements care models and programs that results in patient care outcomes exceeding established benchmarks. Implements best practices and programs to prevent hospital acquired conditions in addition to ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations. Education/ExperienceMinimum Required:Bachelor of Science in Nursing DegreeEight (8) years of progressively responsible relevant clinical experience or MBA/MSN with 2-3 years of progressively responsible relevant clinical experience.

Previous management experienceQuality management and performance improvement experiencePreferred:MBA or Master’s Degree in a related fieldLicense/CertificationMinimum Required:Current New York State Registered Nurse LicensePreferred:Professional certification in a related nursing specialty or other related field; required within 2 years of accepting position. Relevant skills certification (i.e., CPR, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, Fetal Monitoring, Chemotherapy) Work EnvironmentWork is performed in an office environment and patient care areas, which requires working in proximity to other employees and patients.

Rooms are air conditioned and heated. Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting. Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.

PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Hospitals Infection Control policies. Employees are required to have reasonable access to transportation to meet work requirements made in the ordinary course of business in a timely and efficient manner.
