12-hour night shifts, approximately 36 hours per week Weekend and Holiday Coverage: As needed Floating: As needed, though infrequent On-Call: Not expected Healthcare Setting: On-site emergency department Emergency Room Nurse Requirements At least 2 years of recent Emergency Room or Emergency Department nursing experience Previous travel nursing experience required Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas or a valid compact-state license Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and provide weekend or holiday coverage as needed Strong emergency assessment, patient prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills Emergency Department RN Responsibilities Assess, triage, and deliver skilled nursing care to patients with urgent and emergent medical or traumatic conditions Recognize changes in patient status and promptly initiate appropriate emergency nursing interventions Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans Assist with emergency procedures, patient stabilization, and preparation for admission, transfer, or discharge Provide clear patient and family education regarding treatment plans, follow-up care, and discharge instructions Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards Support emergency department operations by adapting to changing patient volumes and assisting across the emergency care area when needed Apply now for this Emergency Room Registered Nurse travel contract in Lawrence, Kansas, and take the next step in your travel nursing career.
