Contract details

The Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse (GN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN or GN is responsible and accountable for compliance to all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights.

The RN or GN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Sign-on Incentive:Experienced candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000.

Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment, considering factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impactEducates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resourcesUtilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to United Health Services policyShares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization including staffing, time management, supplies, and servicesComplies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and United Health Services policiesActively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practicesActively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completes all mandatory education requirementsIntegrates nursing research and current evidence into practiceProvides a supportive learning environment for new employees and studentsPerforms duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assignedPosition

Minimum Required:A graduate of an accredited school of NursingCurrent NYS RN License or Valid NYS Limited Permit to practice as a GNPreferred:Bachelor of Science degree in NursingPrevious clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory settingProfessional certification in a related nursing specialtyRelevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned#IND2
