First Assist (RN)

Days Job Type: Full Time To provide direct patient care during the perioperative phase. To function interdependently with surgeons and apply knowledge, skills and judgment necessary to assist the surgeon in the surgical treatment of the patient. Functions under the supervision of the Surgeon and Registered Nurse.

When not assisting surgeon, will function as surgical scrub technician. Complies with the objectives and policies of the hospital and with surgical services standards of care. Required to work flexible hours and be on call nights, weekends and holidays.

Knowledge of, adherence of monitoring and compliance of all regulatory and licensing agencies including but not limited to JCAHO, OSHA, AHCA, CMS.

HS Education. College preferred. Surgical Tech or above.

Previous OR experience with minimum of 3 yearsCertifications:Certified Surgical Technology First Assistant, BLS#LI-MQ1
