Required
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Prior ICU experience required. Agency RN will function as a bedside ICU nurse and will not serve in the Charge Nurse role.
Acute Care Services utilizes a unified Charge Nurse model, with one Charge Nurse providing oversight for both the Med-Surg and ICU units. This charge nurse assignment is not expected to be filled by agency staff. Agency RN must be competent in the care of critically ill adult patients and comfortable working in a rural critical access hospital environment.
ICU patients will be assigned to ICU-competent nurses. When ICU census is low or there are no ICU patients, the agency RN may be assigned to assist on the Med-Surg unit, including accepting a limited assignment of approximately 1-2 Med-Surg patients or assisting with patient care activities as needed. Agency staff will not be assigned a full Med-Surg patient load except under extraordinary circumstances and at the discretion of the Charge Nurse and Manager.
