PERMANENT Job opportunity: About the job Mammography TechnologistJob Title: Mammography TechnologistLocation: White Plains, New YorkPay: $48.91–$73.36 per hour, based on experience and qualificationsSchedule: Monday–Friday | 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m Hours: 75 hours per pay period Employment Type: Permanent, Direct-Hire Position Setting: Outpatient ImagingPosition SummaryAn outpatient imaging department in White Plains, New York, is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality breast imaging examinations while providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

The technologist will prepare and position patients, evaluate images for technical quality, assist physicians during procedures, maintain equipment and quality-assurance standards, and help patients feel informed and comfortable throughout their examinations. Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and position patients correctly for mammography examinations according to established protocols. Explain procedures to patients and family members and respond to questions or concerns.

Produce high-quality diagnostic images and review completed examinations for accuracy, quality, and completeness. Complete required patient questionnaires and image documentation. Assist physicians and radiologists during procedures as needed.

Present images to the radiologist and communicate urgent or preliminary findings to the attending physician when directed. Document all clinical communications appropriately. Perform equipment quality-assurance testing and calibrations.

Maintain appropriate supplies and place orders when needed. Operate mammography, imaging, computer, and related equipment safely. Process images and prepare imaging CDs when requested.

Document patient and examination information in the electronic medical record, radiology information system, and PACS. Review previous imaging studies and reports when needed. Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked examination areas.

Report malfunctioning equipment to biomedical engineering or department leadership. Recognize and respond appropriately to changing patient conditions and emergency situations. Participate in staff meetings, training, continuing education, and departmental in-services.

Serve as an instructor or preceptor when assigned. Provide professional and respectful care to patients across different age groups and clinical needs. Assist with on-call, holiday, overtime, or alternate-shift coverage when required by department operations.

RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited radiography certificate, allied health, or hospital-based imaging program. Active New York State Department of Health Radiologic Technologist license upon hire.

Current ARRT certification in Mammography — ARRT(M) — upon hire. American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire. Ability to work Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to respond appropriately to rapidly changing patient and departmental needs. Strong attention to detail and ability to remain focused during extended procedures.

Ability to operate computers, imaging equipment, and other clinical devices. Ability to maintain required continuing education and mammography-specific credentials.
