Job Summary and QualificationsThe Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift.
In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performanceWhat you will do in this role:Assesses patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Assesses patient environment for any safety risks and/or non-compliance with regulatory standards. Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention. Prepares postpartum patients and newborns for routine assessments.
Assists with recovery and bonding, and supports early breastfeeding and newborn care practices. Observes maternal and neonatal status, including vital signs, pain levels, feeding cues, and emotional well-being; reports concerns and documents care accurately. Operates and maintains equipment such as infant warmers, breast pumps, and monitoring devices. Ensures cleanliness and readiness of patient rooms and supplies in accordance with infection control standards.
