$2,250–$2,370 Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota Healthcare Setting: Acute-care cardiac stepdown and progressive care unit Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: October 19, 2026 End Date: January 18, 2027
36 hours per week guaranteed
12-hour nights or rotating 12-hour shifts Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, including Friday/Saturday/Sunday rotations, or straight weekend scheduling as assigned Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday Charting: EPIC electronic medical record Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in South Dakota At least 1 year of recent RN experience in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, progressive care, or acute care Strong cardiac nursing experience required Critical care experience preferred due to potential floating assignments Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification Recent EPIC experience required Ability to work 12-hour night or rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled Cardiac Nursing Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac conditions and procedures in a stepdown setting Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, clinical status, and changes in patient condition Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team Recognize and respond promptly to clinical deterioration or changes in cardiac status Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in EPIC Support safe patient transitions through education, care coordination, and discharge planning Maintain flexibility to float to appropriate units when needed, using critical-care skills when applicable Apply now for this Cardiac Stepdown RN travel nursing contract in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and join an experienced acute-care healthcare team.
