Three 12-hour night shifts per week Shift Duration: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and designated holidays required Healthcare Setting: 26-bed medical-surgical unit serving a broad range of general medical patients Electronic Medical Record: Epic Staffing Support: Nurse aides, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, hospitalist coverage, and IV support available Med/Surg Tele RN Job Requirements Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Connecticut At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered Recent Epic documentation experience required Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Current ACLS and NIHSS certifications Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and required holidays Availability to work up to 48 hours when needed Must be comfortable working without a blocked schedule and with limited time-off requests during the assignment Must live more than 50 miles from the assignment location in accordance with travel assignment requirements Medical-Surgical Travel Nurse Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients with a variety of diagnoses and acuity levels Complete focused and comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient progress Administer medications and treatments, monitor responses, and promptly communicate changes in patient condition Use Epic to maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation Collaborate with providers, nurse aides, respiratory therapists, pharmacy staff, IV support, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team Support patient education, discharge planning, safety initiatives, and continuity of care Respond appropriately to changes in patient status and escalate concerns according to clinical protocols Promote a positive patient experience while maintaining professional nursing standards during overnight shifts Apply now for this Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse travel assignment in Middletown, Connecticut, and join a supportive acute-care healthcare team.
