We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care to hospitalized patients across multiple Med-Surg units. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for patients with cardiac, spinal, and neurological conditions and be comfortable adapting to different unit needs. The RN will assess patients, administer medications and treatments, monitor clinical progress, coordinate with the healthcare team, and maintain accurate documentation using Epic.
Key Responsibilities Assess patients' health conditions, monitor vital signs, and identify changes requiring intervention. Provide nursing care to patients with cardiac, spine, and neurological conditions. Administer medications and prescribed treatments and evaluate patient responses.
Monitor patients recovering from procedures or surgery and report complications promptly. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care. Maintain accurate electronic health records using Epic.
Follow established clinical protocols, infection-control practices, and patient-safety standards. Adapt to assignments across different Medical-Surgical units based on operational needs. Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as required.
Required Qualifications Active Wisconsin RN license or eligible compact RN license. Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification. Previous experience working across different Medical-Surgical units, including cardiac, spine, and neuro.
Epic electronic medical record experience. Ability to work 12-hour evening/night shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
