Quick Look ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (Day Shift) in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Location Upper Marlboro, MD Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule/Shift This position requires 3x12 hour shifts on days, from 07:30 to 20:00, with weekend coverage needed every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.
The Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced border unit handling a wide variety of patient diagnoses, including complex emergency department admissions. The role requires providing care to a minimum of 10 and up to 40 patients daily, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6. The setting includes care for ED boarders, Medical-Surgical, and Intermediate Care units within the nurse's scope of practice.
Responsibilities Administer and manage medications and treatments as prescribed. Perform assessments and develop nursing care plans. Monitor and document vital signs and patient status.
Provide support for patients with diverse medical conditions. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including social services and pharmacy. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Required Experience A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry setting is required. Previous charge or leadership experience is preferred. Experience with a variety of patient diagnoses, including trauma.
Certifications/Licensure Active RN license in Maryland or compact state. BLS and ACLS certifications required. CPI certification required; Calm Every Storm online version is accepted.
NIHSS certification preferred.
