🚨 Locum Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) / Neonatal Physician Assistant (PA) – Hershey, PA 🚨📍 Location: Hershey, Pennsylvania🏥 Facility: Penn State Health – Milton S. Hershey Medical Center (Children's Hospital)📅 Start: ASAP📆 Assignment: Ongoing through December 31, 2026❌ No Call Position OverviewPenn State Health is seeking experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs) and Neonatal Physician Assistants (PAs) to join its Level IV, 56-bed NICU, caring for high-acuity neonatal patients.

Providers will collaborate closely with Neonatologists while independently managing the daily care of critically ill newborns. Penn State prefers providers with an active Pennsylvania license; however, candidates who have already started the PA licensing process will also be considered if they possess the required neonatal experience and procedural skills. ScheduleWeekdays (Monday–Friday): 4:00 PM – 8:00 AMWeekends: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM24-hour shifts available any day of the weekPrimary coverage includes nights and weekendsTypically 2–3 APPs scheduled per shiftClinical ResponsibilitiesManage critically ill neonatal patients in a Level IV NICUPerform comprehensive neonatal assessments and daily patient managementCollaborate with Neonatologists and multidisciplinary care teamsParticipate in ground and air neonatal transportPerform advanced neonatal procedures, including:PICC line placementUVC/UAC line placementChest tube insertionLumbar puncturesNeonatal intubationsRequired QualificationsBoard Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Neonatal Physician Assistant (PA)Extensive Level III/IV NICU experienceProficiency with all required neonatal proceduresExperience with neonatal transport preferredBLS CertificationPALS CertificationNRP CertificationCerner experience preferredFacility HighlightsLevel IV NICU with 56 bedsLevel I Pediatric Trauma CenterCollaborative physician and APP practice modelStrong nursing support (20–22 RNs per shift)Long-term assignment with consistent schedulingCredentialingEstimated timeframe: 60–120 daysActive PA license preferred; candidates actively pursuing Pennsylvania licensure are encouraged to apply.
