Responsibilities Provide specialized nursing care to neonates in a 20-bed Level III NICU. Care for infants with congenital abnormalities, feeding and growth difficulties, and complex neonatal conditions. Monitor neonatal vital signs, respiratory status, oxygenation, and other clinical parameters.
Care for ventilated neonates in collaboration with respiratory therapists. Administer medications and titrate prescribed drips according to provider orders and NICU protocols. Read and interpret cardiac strips and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
Provide individualized neonatal care based on patient acuity and the assigned nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2. Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner EMR.
Support feeding, growth, and developmental care for neonates. Participate in unit-specific orientation and follow NICU safety and infection-control protocols.
