3-4 years of nursing experience, at least 2 should be NICU or SCN. For the traveler we would love some postpartum experience but not absolutely required, previous NICU or Level 2 SCN required Cerner exp Preferred not required Float: To postpartum or pediatrics if needed- but not likely for traveler. Will take assignment in PP or peds if comfortable, but will be helping hands if they do not have appropriate experience.

More about our Unit: Our special care nursery is integrated with our labor and delivery unit which is an 18 bed LDRP- all of our RNs are trained to postpartum and then either SCN or L&D- The total staff on for a shift is 8-9 RNs with 2 of those RNs trained for the special care nursery. The SCN delivers 32 weeks and above, the nurses attend deliveries of vaginal births and in the OR for cesarean sections. Additionally, there are grower feeders that are patients in SCN.

We do administer surfactant via LMA to appropriate candidates. We have 6 beds however average census is typically 2-5 neonates. For the traveler we would love some postpartum experience but not absolutely required, previous NICU or Level 2 SCN required.

Should be comfortable assisting in deliveries, starting neonate IVs, babies on C-pap, tube feedings, ESC managing withdrawal substance abuse etc.
