Level 4 RN Midwife – OBGYN Job Type: ContractLocation: Cherokee NationStart Date: October 19, 2026End Date: January 16, 2027Duration: Approximately 13 weeksRequisition: 810915Department/Service: Women’s Health / Labor & DeliveryEngagement Type: Contract Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) Midwife to provide high-quality maternal and women’s health care within an OBGYN setting.
The successful candidate will support patients throughout the prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, and broader women’s health care continuum while collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing and midwifery care to obstetric and gynecologic patients. Perform patient assessments, monitor maternal and fetal well-being, and identify changes in clinical condition.
Assist with prenatal care, labor management, delivery, and postpartum care within scope of practice. Educate patients and families regarding pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum recovery, and women’s health. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders and established protocols.
Monitor vital signs, fetal heart rate, laboratory results, and other relevant clinical indicators. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians, nurses, midwives, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Provide compassionate patient-centered care while maintaining safety, privacy, and dignity. Recognize and appropriately respond to obstetric or gynecologic complications and emergencies. Follow organizational policies, clinical standards, infection-control procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Support continuity of care and effective communication during patient transitions. Required QualificationsActive Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Midwifery qualification/certification appropriate to the role and applicable practice requirements.
Previous experience in OB/GYN, labor and delivery, maternal health, or midwifery care. Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and patient-care skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and professional standards. Preferred ExperienceExperience providing care across the prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum continuum.
Experience working with diverse patient populations. Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary women’s health teams. Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems.
