The organization is seeking a Pathology Assistant located in the New York area. This role involves assisting with the preparation and gross examination of surgical pathology specimens under supervision, ensuring accurate specimen handling and documentation. The position supports the pathology team in various laboratory tasks and specimen processing activities.
Job Details Position: Pathology Assistant (PA) Location: New York
Days Shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week. Required
NY State license; Bachelors Degree in Biology or related science with certification of Pathologists Assistant Program or equivalent; 1 year of experience; BLS (AHA) certification.
ASCP certification. Additional Information: Assist in gross examination, tissue dissection, specimen accessioning, labeling, and preparing tissues for histology. Support the organization of pathology grossing tasks, troubleshoot Voice Recognition issues, and assist with post-mortem examinations as needed.
Maintain communication with pathology staff and update training manuals regularly. Operate laboratory and office equipment safely and efficiently, demonstrating attention to detail and adaptability.
