Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit Des Moines. The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care, completes assessments, develops and evaluates individualized care plans, and supports patient rehabilitation and discharge planning. The role also supervises nursing support staff, promotes patient and employee safety, and contributes to continuity of care through timely communication and documentation.

Registered Nurse qualification Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before the first shift Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required before the first shift when applicable Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience Recent critical care experience
Night shifts; 12-hour shifts; minimum 48 hours per week. Float: Float rotation may be required. Additional Information: Complete nursing assessments within eight hours of admission and use assessment findings to establish individualized care plans.
Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, with emphasis on patient and family education and achievement of care goals. Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission. Communicate changes in patient status to the appropriate care team members to promote continuity of care and patient safety.
Provide direction, training, delegation, and supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orienting staff. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses. Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and contribute to rehabilitation programming.
