Days, 5x8-Hour shifts (08:30–17:00), Monday–Friday Location: 11 Salt Creek Ln, Ste 300, Hinsdale, IL 60521 Free on-site parking Pay Rate: Local Pay Rate: $48.00/hr Position Overview: UChicago Medicine is seeking an Outpatient Pediatrics RN for its ambulatory pediatric clinic in Hinsdale. Ideal candidate has peds specialty/ambulatory experience and is comfortable in a fast-paced outpatient clinic setting.
Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in an outpatient/ambulatory clinic setting, including assessment, triage, and treatment support Room patients, obtain vital signs, and gather health histories prior to provider visits Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per physician orders and pediatric dosing protocols Prepare and assist with in-office procedures, exams, and minor treatments Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, home care, and preventive health measures Document patient encounters, assessments, and interventions accurately and timely in Epic Coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments, and communication with specialists or outside providers Monitor and respond to patient/family phone calls or portal messages regarding symptoms, medications, or concerns Support clinic flow and patient throughput to maintain efficient scheduling Maintain infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance standards throughout the clinic Collaborate with physicians, APPs, medical assistants, and front-desk staff as part of the care team Prepare and maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment for daily clinic operations Assist with age-appropriate developmental screenings and growth tracking Respond promptly to urgent pediatric symptoms and escalate per clinic protocol Requirements & Preferences: Peds Specialty – Ambulatory experience preferred Instructor-led Epic class required Illinois RN license required in hand at time of submission No license hits accepted Less than 2 years' experience may still be considered Compliance Notes RTO: no more than 3 days total; none during first or last week of contract Former UCM/PRN/Ingalls staff must have separated 7+ months before return Block scheduling/special schedule requests must be raised at submittal and discussed at interview — not accepted after offer acceptance or on-site
