Pharmacist- Ensures safe, accurate and appropriate use of medications, by evaluating prescribers orders for dosing, allergies and contraindications. Directs the work of supportive pharmacy personnel. Answers pharmacy-related questions for other health professionals.
Performs pharmacokinetic monitoring and consultations, reports adverse drug events and variances involving medications. Recommends appropriate and cost-effective drug therapy options. Provides medication counseling to patients and their families.
Promotes and participates in the defined missions of the hospital and the pharmacy. Actively promotes the profession of pharmacy by participating in the education of students on clerkships and experiential experiences. Minimum 1 year experience in a pharmacy setting, either as an intern or pharmacist, required Hosptial Pharmacy experience preferred PGY 1 or PGY2 preferred Also see attached Job Description for pharmacist.
