12H Rotating Start Date: 12/15/2026 Duration: 14 weeks We are currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a contract position in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a leading acute-care hospital in Aurora, CO. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced PICU nurses to provide high-quality care in a high-acuity pediatric critical care environment. Position Overview: As a PICU RN, you will be responsible for caring for complex medical and surgical patient populations, including patients from birth through 21 years of age.
You will be part of a team that provides comprehensive care to children with a variety of critical conditions. Key
Deliver high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU. Monitor and manage respiratory diagnoses requiring support from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation. Care for patients with chronic childhood diseases, sepsis, traumatic brain injury (TBI), diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), seizure disorders, oncology diagnoses, metabolic disorders, and non-accidental trauma (NAT).
Utilize specialized equipment such as Trilogy and Servo ventilators, Codman ICP monitors, Medfusion syringe pumps, and Baxter large volume IV pumps. Float to all inpatient care areas, including critical care units and acute care floors, as needed.
BSN required. Current Colorado RN License. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a staff RN in a comparable PICU.
Experience caring for patients from birth through 21 years of age. Required
AHA BLS and AHA PALS.
Minimum of 2 years of PICU staff experience. 1 year of travel experience in a teaching facility preferred. Schedule and Additional Information:
12H Rotating (Nights: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM). Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday). Float Requirement: Yes, as needed.
RTO: None allowed during the first 2 weeks. Flu Vaccine: Medical/religious exemptions allowed. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a supportive environment dedicated to providing the best care for pediatric patients.
