United Health Services is seeking a compassionate and skilled Radiation Therapist to join our advanced Radiation Oncology team. In this vital role, you will deliver precise radiation treatments using state-of-the-art technology to support the best possible outcomes for our patients. The following duties are performed on Varian Trubeam, Elekta VersaHD machines, and Mosaiq R+V. Administer radiation treatment of prescribed dose to the designated area to include reproducing patient position and plan parameters for each day of treatment. Perform patient simulations in collaboration with the radiation oncologistFabricate immobilization devices Capture XVI and/or portal images as outlined in the treatment planMeasure diode readings as requested by the physician to verify treatment accuracyAccurately document treatment details and patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)Schedule patients for treatment and simulation sessionsEnsure accurate charge capture and billing for all procedures performedFabricate blocks and cutouts for electron treatments as neededPerform daily morning warm-up and quality assurance checks on treatment equipmentAlert the physician and nurse to any complications or patient concerns observed during treatmentOperate the CT Big Bore for simulation and radiation planning purposesParticipate in weekly chart rounds, monthly staff meetings, and other assigned departmental meetingsAdhere to department scheduling requirements and demonstrate flexibility to meet patient care needsPosition

Minimum Required:Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Radiation TherapyNYS licensure registration in Radiologic Technology Radiation Therapy, and ARRT Radiation Therapy certification taken within 4 months, and passed within 6 months of employment. CPR certification within the first three months of hirePreferred:Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Radiation Work EnvironmentENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: All work is performed in offices that require working in close quarters with other employees.

The offices are air conditioned/heated. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Able to lift patients and heavy equipment to perform all job duties.
