Radius rule: Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
Unit Information:
Beds: 10 echo suites
Census? Average patients/day? 35 outpatients + 35-70 inpatients
Minimum Years of Experience required? 3 years of outpatient or acute experience
Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
Mostly adults but could see Peds during nights or weekends. Outpatient and inpatients.
CHF, SOB, pericardial effusion, PE, pre/post TAVRs and valves, pre/post CABG, dysrhythmias/arrhythmias
Required License, National Certification, Certs:
BLS
ARDMS-RDCS or CCI-RCIS accepted
Skills required:
Processing 3D and strain imaging, basic echo protocol, bubble studies, Definity contrast, doppler and color flow imaging
Could assist with stress echoes (preferred). No TEEs
Support within the Department:
Supervisor/Manager
Other Echo techs always here (except on night callback)
Up to 5 RNs in the department per day

Could float within hospital for bedside scans
Orientation (facility and unit) :

2-3 shift of departmental orientation
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: 1 scheduled weekend per month
On call? Yes
3 nights of call per month, any night of the week (typically on days scheduled to work)
Can only be called in through cardiology
1 hour response time
Holiday Expectations: none at this time
Approval of RTO: to go through manager
Shift times: 0700-1530, weekend days are 0600-1430
Schedule cycle: set schedule
